"After Cadmus II"

$1,250.00

Graphite
18” x 24”
Limited First Edition (100)

Paul Cadmus, one of the 20th century’s greatest figurative painters, also produced masterful nude drawings. Cadmus died in 1999, three years after enactment of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which sought to bar relationships like his with Jon Andersson from being recognized.

After Cadmus is the reimagining of one of his drawings. It is drawn with the decision in the United States Supreme Court in the case of United States v. Windsor (2013) which successfully sought the repeal of Section 3 of DOMA.
